Who
I have been formally trained as a home inspector and have passed two rigorous tests to obtain my membership in ASHI. To maintain this membership I must periodically participate in formal training and education that is accepted by ASHI and perform home inspections under the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics spelled out by this not for profit organization. The link below will take you to the American Society of Home Inspectors web page that will explain in detail requirements of an ASHI Member. The GPASHI link is the local Kansas City ASHI chapter where we meet monthly, have dinner and then a guest speaker educates us after the meal. The MII link is a home inspectors school in Leavenworth, KS where I have taught exterior siding failures and fireplace information to want to be home inspectors. The last link is for fireplace owners. I am the only home inspector in Topeka that is also a Certified Chimney Sweep (#2529).

Ask yourself...
If you are not sure you need your home inspected, you should ask yourself a few questions: 1. Do you have formal training in all areas of the home or as a home inspector? 2. Will the parties involved allow your findings to be a part of the negotiation in the contract for sale of the home your buying or will they think it as being biased? 3. Will emotions play a strong role in the way you inspect or look over the home you plan to make the largest investment of your lifetime?

Our mission statement
Inspection Connection Inc. provides our client with extensive and pertinent knowledge in the biggest investment of one's lifetime. Since 1991 it has been our goal to provide a 3rd party opinion in an objective narrative report. We do this by inspecting each home as if we were planning to live in it. We make no repairs so we come fully unbiased as to what we may find in doing a home inspection for you. We also keep in mind that the Buyer is the ultimate client no matter who may be paying for the home inspection. The Buyer is planning to purchase the home and this is who we think of while doing the inspection.
